New Home Means New Blog

Woo Hoo! We found a home in The Fairways at Crystal Falls. It has all 4 bedrooms on the ground floor which was the number one thing on our son's list. It has a courtyard entry which is wonderful. There is a game room upstairs which is the only room on the 2nd floor. There's a separate single car garage - so excited about having 3 garage spaces instead of 2.5. Oh, and the laundry room is not a walk through from the garage.

Good Bye hotel living...

Good Bye Mayfield Ranch Home

We are going to miss you....

(click on photos to enlarge photos)

We will miss you bedroom #4 that we used as the Lego and Toy Room and the attached closet (The Kid Cave) with the awesome chalkboard we made. No pic, but on the wall that you can't see in the bedroom was a Lego mural that I made.

Good Bye to Asher's large perfect bedroom with the awesome attached office...

Good Bye perfectly laid out game room...

Good Bye awesome mudroom cabinets that I loved so much. But not good bye to the washer and dryer being next to the garage entry door. Hated that as it was used so much and "someone" made scratches on the front of the washer and dryer, and let's not forget getting hit by the door a gazillion times while doing laundry.... :)

Good Bye lovely trees! We will miss you large tree in the middle that everyone said would die. We worked hard trying to save you and you have proved them all wrong and decided to thrive.

We really, really loved this home. It was love at first sight. I hope we find one that we will love just as much...

O Christmas Tree

I mean trees...

Below is our main Christmas tree. It isn't the best photo, but all the good ones have family members in them. I really try to avoid posting photos of people on line whenever possible.

This is the tree that is in the office. I had to crop kiddos out of the pics, so it isn't a great photo to show how pretty is truly is. We love this tree so much.

The next tree is in the dining room, and it is our Grinch tree. Such a fun tree that is arched at the top. I looked for this tree for several years (called around the country and looked online practically every day), and my wonderful husband finally found it on December 22, 2008. He had to basically beg the shop owner to sell it to him as she was worried we would be unsatisfied because it had no lights and had been in storage in the back for years. We were prepared to pay quite a bit for it and she only charged us $50. Too funny! Bad pic though. The Grinch is hanging from it upside down.

Our fireplace. I made the glass artwork this year and it is much larger in person than it appears in photos. Now, I just need to figure out where to store it for 11 months! :)

The stairway - the garland has little elves hanging on it. I love elves.

The Disney tree which we had on a rotating base. We had started collecting Disney storybook ornaments, but it looks like Disney discontinued making them. Too bad.

This is the Art Room tree which is decorated with mainly handmade ornaments.

Next is the Lego/Toy Room tree. This year we did a Toy Story tree with toys we already had on hand. I think it turned out cute.

...and here is the kiddo's Lego Christmas Village that I "had" to post. :)

This is the office which is connected to the kiddo's room. This tree is decorated with ornaments given to him by family and friends. It is a really special tree that we treasure.

Last but not least, is the Star Wars tree. It was just an idea that I came up with while straightening the branches and trying to figure out what to put on it this year. Of course, my Star Wars loving child absolutely loves it.
