We've had quite a few neighbors inquire why we didn't decorate as much this year, so let me explain. There are only a few items that we did not put out this year since they were damaged last year, but everything else is still in the yard plus we added two inflatables that our kiddo really wanted. (although we always said we'd never put inflatables with our Christmas display we really enjoy the two he picked out) It just looks like we didn't decorate as much because we moved everything closer to the house to avoid electrical cords running through the lawn. We've had too many people trip and we didn't want anyone to get hurt - especially the kids. It just became a huge liability for us, plus decorations were being damaged. We hated doing it, but it became necessary.
Since I am on the subject of exterior decorations...if anyone has the answer or an idea to this crazy phenomenon, we'd love to hear it...
Every year, we line our entire yard with green lights and every day during December we have missing bulbs. True story! Since we can't figure it out or prevent it, we decided to just line our driveway this year to see if it makes a difference and so far none have gone missing nor have we had broken bulbs. It's so weird. We've always wondered if it was animals.
